We had hoped Justin Timberlake would star in a biopic, though this wasn’t the one we had in mind. The reluctant pop star will produce and star in Spinning Gold, a biopic about Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart. Bogart, who died from cancer at the age of 39, was responsible for discovering 70s music acts like KISS, Donna Summer and The Village People. We’re not particularly sure why Bogart’s life is worth documenting in a big-screen production, but with JT on board, there must be a good reason. (Perhaps it’s to nab that Oscar nom Timberlake never got for The Social Network?) [Via PopCrush]
