Millions tuned in for the arrival of The X-Factor to see how Simon Cowell would fare as he set about importing his British talent show to America. But for pop fans, the X-Factor premiere also represented a chance to see a little of what transpired when British songstress Cheryl Cole was replaced by former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the judges’ panel as production began this past spring.
