Drake is getting the weekend started right in his new slow jam “The Real Her”. Actually, Drizzy likely had nothing to do with this song surfacing on the Internet, and as of now, there’s no word on whether the track (which includes a cameo from Drake’s patron Lil Wayne) will feature on the upcoming Take Care. Head below to listen to Drake sing about Houston, Atlanta and Vegas girls being down. On “The Real Her”, Drake feels like he already knows the lovely lady presenting herself to the rapper. “You must have done this before, this can’t be your first time / we must have been here before, it’s still fresh on my mind,” he sings. (Yes, sings.)

Later, his Young Money boss Lil Wayne comes in with this gem: “I know I’m not supposed to judge a book by it’s cover / I don’t wanna be in the blind but sometimes I Stevie Wonder about her.”

Musically, this one sounds like the not-so-distant cousin of “Marvin’s Room”. We’re not sure that Drake will ever go be pegged as an heir to Otis Redding’s soul crooner legacy, but let’s give him an A- for effort, shall we?

What do you think about “The Real Her”?
