Turns out Lady Gaga’s Born This Way: The Remix won’t be the only November release The Weeknd had a hand in, as Drake says in a new MTV News interview that he and the fellow Toronto artist collaborated on four songs featured on Drizzy’s delayed Take Care LP (now due out November 15).
During the interview, Drake gives some interesting insight into 21-year-old singer The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye), who recently remixed Florence + The Machine’s single “Shake It Out”:
“He’s not signed right now. He’s just doing his own thing. He’s in the city. He still hasn’t left. He’s never been on a plane before.. He’s just a good Toronto kid that’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever come across. “
Drizzy, who just turned 25 over the, er, weekend, goes on to say that The Weeknd “is a writer and collaborator on like four songs on my album” before noting that he himself usually doesn’t write with other people.
“We try to tap into the same emotions because we’re from the same city,” he explains. Thatta boy, Drake — always good for a few surprise pair-ups.
Will you be picking up a copy of Take Care when it’s released next month?

This album can’t come out soon enough, and the Weeknd influence has already come through on a few of the advance tracks. Can’t wait to hear more of the collaboration.
Drake either needs to work with other producers or get Noah “40″ Shebib to step his (almost no) drums game up if this is gonna be something other than a repeat of the sleepy original.
