Coldplay’s ‘Mylo Xyloto’ Expected To Beat Kelly Clarkson To #1 Next Week

October 27th, 2011 // 8 Comments

Coldplay and Kelly Clarkson each released their fifth studio albums this week — Mylo Xyloto and Stronger, respectively — though Clarkson has been stuck in the runner-up position on iTunes all week, behind the UK band. Billboard is predicting an easy win for the Chris Martin-fronted act on next week’s Top 200 chart, as Mylo Xyloto is on track to sell upwards of 450,000 copies.

That’s a bit of a drop for Coldplay, whose previous album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends barreled out of the gate with 721,000 copies sold in 2008. Still, Billboard notes that Mylo Xyloto could wind up having the third best opening week for an album in 2011, behind Lady Gaga’s Born This Way (1.1 million) and Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV (964,000).

Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger is looking to enter the Top 200 just behind Coldplay, at #2, with about 150,000 sold. The American Idol winner’s previous LP All I Ever Wanted started at #1 in 2009, with 255,000 copies sold in its first week.

Did you buy a copy of Mylo Xyloto or Stronger (or both) this week? Let us know below.

I just wanted to say that I love Kelly Clarkson’s music with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life listening to it because her music has been the best thing that has ever happened to me ever sine she was chosen to be the first winner on, “American Idol” during the summer of 2002. I would be lost forever if she ever decides to stop making music because making music is what she lives for. Kelly is one of my most favorite female Pop music artists and songwriters in the music industry, and I’m also one of her most biggest fans who was born and raised over here in the United States of America. I will always guard and protect her heart from all of those haters out there because I truly believe that it is my destiny to do so. I have all 4 of her previous albums and I just purchased the deluxe edition of her “Stronger” album last week at the mall. There isn’t a single song that I dislike from this album because in my personal opinion, I think that it is one of the best Pop albums of 2011. I also truly believe that this album will sell over 1 million copies over here in the United States of America and worldwide because she has a lot of fans all over the world who really enjoys listening to her music as much as I do. I also think that she looks a lot more prettier than my wife, Ashley and I wish that I was married to her instead because she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body like my wife does. If I was married to Kelly, her name would be, “Kelly Brianne Clarkson-Groves” and I would make her the most happiest woman in the whole entire world by loving her with all my heart because she deserves to have all of the love and happiness that life has to offer. She has an amazing singing voice that was given to her as a very special gift from God, and nobody out there could ever take that away from her no matter what. She is the perfect role model to all of her fans out there and there isn’t a single thing that I dislike about her. Her “Stronger” album is the perfect mixture of Country, Dance, Pop, Rock, and Soul. End of story.

Kelly Clarkson’s, “Stronger” album is one of the best Pop albums of 2011 and hope that it doesn’t flop over here in the United States of America.
