Just as Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” is one of the more bittersweet-sounding singles to be released from Teenage Dream when compared to, say, “California Gurls” or “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”, the video looks to be one of the darkest from this era of the singer’s career. In the short, gritty trailer for the upcoming video (it premieres on November 11), what looks like the end of a couple’s relationship plays out while a voice-over says, “I wish for one day I could go back. In another life, I would do things differently.” Watch below.
This week “The One That Got Away”, a Max Martin and Dr. Luke co-production, cracked the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 when it climbed up to #34 on the chart.
And here we were thinking it was simply high school graduation that tore Katy apart from her one that got away. We should have known by the epic scale of her “E.T.” and “Last Friday Night” videos that there’s much more of a story that will play out in this visual.
Only one more week until the video premieres. Does this trailer have you excited for Katy’s upcoming “The One That Got Away” video?

Is this part 2 of We Found Love? Even the intro monologue….
There does seem to be a theme of doomed romance amongst the divas of pop these days…
There are some similarities with We Found Love but I think it might be just a coincidence and since this fits The One That Got Away, I’m alright with it. I’m ecstatic to see the video.
Copying we found love I see
copying we found love? katy plays an 80 year old woman in the video thinking about a love that got away…rihanna’s video is about a messed up drug induced relationship…80% of the videos out there are about relationships gone bad…so quit hatin’.
