Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” Remix Fills Up ‘My Week With Marilyn’

We don’t normally associate Marilyn Monroe with Katy Perry, but the Weinstein Company is putting these two iconic ladies together anyway. First the pop star’s video for “The One That Got Away” opened before select screenings of the Oscar-baiting biopic My Week With Marilyn, and now Katy’s single has been remixed for a new trailer for the film. Listen to the dancey remix, courtesy of Mike Relm, below.

According to this mash-up, it appears that the Weinstein Company wants Katy’s audience — namely younger girls — to be the core demographic for My Week With Marilyn. Which is great, because encouraging teen girls to idolize a tragic figure who overdosed on pills is always a good idea.
