Lady Gaga’s eagerly awaited A Very Gaga Thanksgiving finally aired, and we’re ready to establish it as a new Turkey Day tradition: after you bicker with your parents and stuff your face until it hurts, you watch a pop superstar sing holiday classics, play with third graders and not discuss her love life. Mother Monster packed all of that and more into her 90-minute broadcast special, along with a rendition of “Marry The Night” and that old chestnut “Bad Romance”. She also shared a stunning revelation about her encounters with Tony Bennett. Relive the magic below.
While the special showed a fairly subdued and even reserved side of Gaga, it also included its share of (typically) bizarre moments. Chief among them, perhaps, was when Gaga noted that she had posed nude for her “The Lady Is A Tramp” duet partner Tony Bennett, who is evidently drawing her for an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair. “I walked in and said, ‘Well, Tony, here we are,’ and I dropped my robe and I got into position. I felt shy, and thought, ‘It’s Tony Bennett, why am I naked?’” (How many times have we asked ourselves the same question?)

My wife and I found Gaga’s Thanksgiving Special to be just that …special. It was really intriguing to listen to Gaga talk about her life. Besides singing, people need to realize that Gaga has some interesting things to say. For example The Born This Way Foundation that both she and her mother established which addresses bullying, was a real plus for the evening. Gaga is forever changing, and hopefully she will produce a Christmas and jazz album.
Great job Gaga…well done!
