Watch Kanye West Visit His Childhood Home
During Kanye West and Jay-Z’s tour stop in Yeezy’s hometown of Chicago, The Throne did more than perform “N*ggas In Paris” a ridiculous amount of times. As seen in the latest VOYR video, the duo stopped by West’s old neighborhood on the southside of Chicago, snapping pics with locals, and taking a stroll through the backyard of his childhood home, where he used to have a dog named “Genius.” (How appropriate, considering its owner.) “Always knew it was gonna happen like this,” said West, returning to the suburban Chicago neighborhood where he grew up. “Where I’m at right now is where I’m at when I was like four years old.”
“We have to re-think, re-inspire… wash the brain, don’t brainwash… allow people to think for themselves,” says Kanye later in the vid. “That’s what College Dropout was about. Think for yourselves, but present amazing options.”
