You’d think Jay-Z would have enough to do in his first few days as a new father, but the proud poppa somehow found time to hit the studio to drop a new song in honor of the newest addition to his family. The rapper and new father updated a new track onto his Life + Times blog, the heartwarming “Glory”. “The most amazing feeling I feel… Baby, I paint the sky blue / My greatest creation was you,” raps Jay on the emotional track that features B.I.C. — that would be Blue Ivy Carter. Get the Kleenex out and listen below.
Jay-Z feat. B.I.C. – “Glory”
Glory – Jay-Z feat. Blue Ivy Carter by Warhol2011
In the Neptunes-produced song, Jay-Z describes his daughter as “a pinch of Hov, a whole glass of B”, and we can even hear the baby’s first cries in the delivery room. Not even a week old and she’s already got a featured credit on a song!
Elsewhere in the track, Hov reveals that he and Beyonce had previously suffered a miscarriage: “You was made in Paris and mama woke up the next day and shot her album package / Last time the miscarriage was so tragic / We was afraid you disappeared but nah baby, you magic.”
We’re tearing up over here. But what do you think of Jay’s tribute to his daughter? And anyone else think Glory would have been an even better baby name than Blue Ivy?

2012′s “Isn’t She Lovely”
The first time I heard any musician rap or sing about their child in a song. Congrats to them.
@Erika exactly.. Beautiful song
#1 mistake -But you was made in Paris and mama woke up the next day and shot her album package– Ok, now you know this dude is bugging, so Bey does her photo shoot in Paris in July and the pillow is born in Jan so it only takes 7 months to grow a goat?
#2 mistake–Last time the miscarriage was so tragic,–Please, so you decide to go on the VMA awards and tell everyone in the world that you are expecting, I thought you was private!!!!
Pillows only been here for two seconds and camel face already trying make money off it, I know the Illuminati pimping Jay out for their money back
#1 The album artwork was photographed in April. By July the album had already been released.
#2 The VMAs were at the end of August. That means Beyonce was about 4 months pregnant. That is a normal time for someone to announce their pregnancy.
Also Jay-Z doesn’t yet seem to be asking for any money for that song.
@Rob
Beyoncé was in Paris before her album release (June 24, 2011), and they shared their happiness to the whole world, and that includes her fans.
And by the way, never call a baby a goat. I dont care who’s it is, but calling a baby that is more than rude!
jeez, whatever happened to celebrating in private?
will smith just the two of us!
biggie smalls and eminem
@ rob the artwork for the album wasn’t done in july because the album came out in june she did the artwork for the album in april so she was 5 months at the vma she even said when she made countdown on september 23 she said she was 6 months so no it takes 9 months to have a baby and she went all 9 months
Aaaah…..that’s just so beautiful, just beautiful.
I’m not a JayZ fan per say…but you could just hear the LOVE from a proud new poppa in honor of his new baby girl. I found it very profound that a newborn baby could move the toughest and the most hard core rapper, boxer, actor or any MAN to his knees in regard to being the most sentimental and loving FATHER. A Father whose heart is just over-flowing with new found love for his baby girl. I wish Jay and Bee all the best, I’m sure they are floating on cloud nine, as it should be. Bringing life into the world is WORTH celebrating!
CONGRATS JAY AND “B” ON BABY BLUE IVY CARTER I LOVE U BOTH……HOLD YOUR HEADS AND BRUSH THAT HATER DIRT OFF YOUR SHOULDERS!!
And not only tell everyone, but perform a hardcore dance in Stillettos. For somebody that had a miscarriage before, would be taking extra precautions to avoid another miscarriage. All of a sudden she is not private any more?
