Last night, the up and coming Joy Williams and John Paul White of the band The Civil Wars were performing to a sold-out crowd at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Halfway through their concert, Williams jokingly introduces a guest performer who “hasn’t had much time on stage” and “is really new at writing songs.” And out came Taylor Swift for the first live performance of “Safe and Sound”, their collaboration for The Hunger Games soundtrack. Watch below.

After the concert, Williams and White took to Twitter saying, “An unforgettable night @TheRyman. Thanks to @taylorswift13 for debuting ‘Safe & Sound’ with us, and thanks to all of YOU for being there.” We can only hope that The Civil Wars will make a surprise appearance with Swift at the Grammy’s next month.
