The fact that Paris Hilton has revealed she’s recorded a single with LMFAO would probably make anyone think Redfoo and SkyBlu have officially jumped the shark. But, really, one need only watch the “Sexy And I Know It” video to realize that the chart-topping duo have already leaped over the shark, bounced off a beach umbrella and are now gyrating on the hot dog vendor’s grill. So, moving on — “Stars Are Blind” music legend Hilton says she’s prepping her set of new tunes for a summer release, which will be six years after her debut LP Paris dropped.

“It’s completely different from my last album,” Paris told MTV News at Harvey Weinstein’s Golden Globe Awards after-party. “I’m going with a whole new genre. I have Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we’ve just been coming up with the most incredible tracks. I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night, so we’re going to be doing my new single with LMFAO.”

Chart-watchers will know Afrojack from his credited appearance on Pitbull’s summer 2011 smash “Give Me Everything”, which the Dutch DJ produced. He’ll also be doing a set at Coachella this spring.

As for Paris’ single with LMFAO, she says it should be released “in the next month or two,” and that it will be followed by her sophomore LP this summer.

“I’ve known them since I was a little girl,” Hilton says of Refoo and SkyBlu. “We grew up together because our parents are friends, so I’m just so proud of them and all their success and what they’ve done because they’ve just created this whole Party Rock brand and it’s just so awesome.”

And, good news, Repo! The Genetic Opera fans — Hilton is starring in another dark musical by director Darren Bousman called The Devil’s Carnival, which, she says, is about “hell.”

Looks like 2012 is shaping up to be Paris’ most prolific year yet.
