Who knew Bob Dylan’s music had magical powers to turn flashy, attention-seeking pop stars into sensitive warblers? After Ke$ha showed a softer, glitter-less side by covering “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” for the Bob Dylan tribute album Chimes Of Freedom: Songs Of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International, next up is Miley Cyrus, who takes on “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.” Watch the 19-year-old pop star record her tribute to the iconic singer-songwriter in her new video below.

Miley Cyrus – “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go”

The cover is a lovely, more relaxed arrangement of Dylan’s original song, and Miley sounds more raw and subtle than she’s ever sounded before. (See, Miley? You don’t need gigantic bird wings or age-inappropriate outfits in order to get people talking.)

What do you think of Miley’s cover? Is it more convincing than her attempt at channeling Nirvana? Let us know what you think on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below.
