New Zealand native Ladyhawke has described the tone of Anxiety, the follow-up to her 2008 self-titled debut album, as darker and rockier, though she leads us in the opposite direction with lead single “Black, White & Blue.” In addition to providing the vocals on the spunky synth-pop track, the famously meticulous singer-songwriter also played drums, guitar and bass. Ladyhawke – “Black, White & Blue”

Ladyhawke — aka Pip Brown — will soon release a video for “Black, White & Blue”, and according to the video’s behind-the-scenes, the concept is based on the 1978 movie Eyes Of Laura Mars, which starred Faye Dunaway as a fashion photographer who can tap into the mind of a serial killer. We’re digging the hair, Pip!
