The Wanted Get Grilled On ‘Chelsea Lately’
Last night, Chelsea Handler couldn’t help firing off a barrage of tongue-in-cheek questions at UK boy band The Wanted, who just wrapped up their inaugural US tour. “The five of you are all of age? I just want to make sure you’re legal to penetrate,” is how the blonde hostess started things off. Later she asked, “Were you arranged by some sort of Simon Cowell?” And then there was this one: “You guys are obviously all straight?” Oh, Chelsea. Handler asked the band about their hit single “Glad You Came” being featured on an upcoming episode of Glee. “My sister went mental. She went absolutely crazy,” said Wanted member Nathan Sykes. “She was screaming down the phone and everything.
Ever the sly fox, Chelsea asked if they penned “Glad You Came” themselves. (They didn’t.) She then quipped, “Oh, I can’t believe you guys didn’t write it all together.” Nathan, in his best mock-dejected tone, said, “We’re a boy band.”
This week “Glad You Came” climbed to #30 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
