Adele Sings “Rolling In The Deep” A Cappella For Anderson Cooper

For those concerned that Adele’s voice may have been damaged or altered following her throat surgery, breathe easy — the singer sounds just as incredible as she always did. In a preview clip of Adele’s pre-Grammy sit-down with Andersoon Cooper on 60 Minutes, the six-time nominee sings her hit single “Rolling In The Deep” a cappella (only because her manicured fingernails were too long to play the piano!). Watch below, and delight in the admission from Anderson that he jogs to “Rolling In The Deep” every morning.

After her throat surgery, Adele was ordered not to sing — or even talk. “I had a notepad and I also had an application on my phone,” she said, explaining how she communicated all those weeks of silence. “You type the words into it and then it speaks it. The great thing is I love to swear — most of them you can’t swear — but I found this one app where you can swear, so I’m still really getting my point across.”

Adele’s 60 Minutes interview airs Sunday, February 12 at 7 p.m. on CBS. The singer will perform live once again following her interview when she takes the stage during the 54th Grammy Awards, which air at 8 p.m., also on CBS.
