Despite Bobby Brown’s sour feelings and early departure from Whitney Houston’s funeral yesterday, he still managed to compose himself and muster up enough energy to join New Edition at their concert in Connecticut later that evening. While he didn’t speak of the issues he dealt with earlier that day, Brown took a moment during the show to reflect on his life over the past year and even shouted out his kids, fiancée, Alicia Etheridge, and Houston.

“I want to give blessings to my ex-wife, Whitney Houston,” he said in the video below. “I love you.”

This isn’t the first time Brown paid tribute to Houston. Two days before the funeral, he made sure that everyone knew his love his ex at New Edition’s gig in Washington, D.C. “That’s my love,” he said. “Life is life. You have to move on sometimes. I love her like I love God.”
