Perhaps to avoid any legal run-ins with Girls Gone Wild franchise creator Joe Francis, Madonna’s second MDNA single has now had its title slightly altered to “Girl Gone Wild”. Whatever the case may be, a lyric video for the track — and the song itself — premiered today, and here we find Madge doing what she does best: turning up the heat on the dance floor. Watch below.
Madonna enlisted the production skills of Benny Bennasi and Alle Bennasi for the pulsing club jam “Girl Gone Wild”. Lyrically, the song is packed with tried-but-true sexual pop cliches like “girls they just wanna have some fun” (what up, Cyndi Lauper?), “you got me in the zone” and “I got that burnin’ hot desire”.
Madonna — ”Girls Gone Wild” (lyric video)
And given the song’s lusty nature, it’s no surprise that there are some vague wink-wink references to the Material Girl’s naughtiest album, Erotica. (“It’s so erotic,” Madonna sings, while later adding, “I know good girls don’t misbehave but I’m a bad girl anyway.”)
Cheerleader-invoking previous single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” was fun enough, but we can’t help feeling “Girl Gone Wild” is more along the lines of what we’ve come to know and love Madonna for.

HECK YES!!
Really like this one! Hopefully the rest of the album follows in its tracks!
Madonna used to be a better songwriter…or at least she slapped her name on better songs. Dance pop lyrics can be so much cleverer than those of her more recent offerings, and these in particular are so beneath her classic era. At her best, she could take cliches and easy rhymes and make them startlingly effective and fresh. All jokes aside, it really feels as if Her Madgesty has lost it. I don’t think brightly-painted cardboard efforts like this are going to recapture her throne with the masses. I want her to succeed again, but this kind of disposable glittertrash isn’t going to catapult her into the Springsteen/McCartney/etc. ranks of Universally Acclaimed Legends the way she deserves.
Don’t you mean it’s “more along the lines of what we’ve come to know and love Britney for”? Obviously the blogs are never going to admit how derivative & reductive this album is turning out to be.
more like Photoshop gone wild. If only the graphic artist put this much effort into her Greatest Hits Volume 2 cover art!
t’s a reductive version of her own song called Celebration. Lyrics are below her level. It’s just ok! Not good enough for #1 spot. Not at all! If this is the best from her in this era, then.. :(
AND NOW BACK TO THE SONG WHICH IS A KILLER GOOD HOT TRACK :)
THATS NOT PHOTOSHOP BE..ITCH! ALL U DAM MOTHERFUKING PSYCHOTIC DELUSINAL BRAIN WASHED JEALOUS REJECT GAGA TROLLS CAN GO ROT IN AN EVERLASTING HELL! UR DESPERATE FAILED ATTEMPTS TO BRING HER AND OTHER ARTIST DOWN ARE JUST AS SICK AS UR NARCASIST DEMENTED DEVIL WORSHIPING MOTHER GAGA
Calm down, auto tune lip syncing “singers” lover! Don’t bring hate on Gaga ‘couse she’s young and talented! Calm down! Madonna won’t flop.. I guess..
U SHOULD BE TELLING THAT TO ALL THE FU UCKING GAGA TROLLS! AND FUNNY U MENTIONED AUTOTUNE CUZ THAT PSYCHOTIC DOG RIPOFF MADE A CAREER OUT OF AUTOTUNE EVEN HAS BACKUP TAPES PLAYING IN HER LIVE SHOWS THAT SHE CLAIMS TO NEVER LIP SYNC? WHAT A FU CKIN HYPOCRITE NARCASISTIC FAKE A$$ GIMMICK.
love it
Sigh, I really want to like this song, but its just so below what I expected from her, I understand staying with current trends, she wants to be current and radio friendly. But she’s Madonna, she can push bounders where few other artists can. This sounds like something we could expect from a teen pop starlet who maybe needs a little help in the vocal department. Sorry but she is not a GIRL gone wild, shes a strong confident women, wish she would choose to sing about where she is in life NOW and how great a place that is! Maybe this song will grow on me or I will connect with the rest of the album.
Sounds cool. hope radio plays it!
someone sounds insecure and had to go attack another singer
Much better than “GMAYL” the first single from her new cd! Go Madonna!!!!
Sounds a bit like “Give It 2 Me”, only not urbanized by Pharell.
Once again, the Madonna fans bring out the attacks against Gaga cause they are so insecure
Despite the politics over peoples perceptions of who’s a more legit artist, writer, this and or that… it’s all blah blah blah.
It’s a fun song, I like it! It’s not her best nor her worst. I’d love to see a fun video to accompany it and some more music on her upcoming album in this vein.
Girl gone wild will burn the dancefloor !!!
good ,mey madonna. I an S S .=JC.A
You compare her with music legends who actually write music? No.
Dance music for tweakers.
I never repeat myself. Can someone tell her she already worked with William Orbit.
YES — this is what sets Madonna apart from the rest. What the who are you comparing Springsteen to Madonna – they are not even the same type of artist. He screeches like someone is yanking his balls ..and so he writes music – so does Madonna. At least she looks good – and he looks welll like a REALLY old man. and Gaga is good – but Madonna is better. Madonna isn’t over – till Madonna says she is over. Madonna is eternal ….. GO MDNA
Really like this track. Soulful harmonics, subtle and sweet. Nice one, I’m impressed.
Well said! This song and GMAYL are both shallow and really shows the mentality of everyone who likes it.
good sey madanna music.
