It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for, Beliebers: Justin Bieber finally let a snippet of his new lyrical masterpiece “Boyfriend” be heard! And it’s also the second-biggest moment you’ve been waiting for: Biebz and his Canadian “Call Me Maybe” pal Carly Rae Jepsen (who he and manager Scooter Braun signed up for a US launch) appeared on TV together. All the action happened on today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Head below to watch.

Okay, let’s talk “Boyfriend”. The scant few seconds we hear have us thinking it sounds like some old-school, early ’90s R&B jam. No surprise there, though, since JB grew up idolizing Boyz II Men. (But actually, the short clip smacks more of Hi-Five or Color Me Badd.)

If those 15 seconds of “Boyfriend” weren’t enough for you, how about the 10-second intro?

We’re definitely feeling the Hi-Five vibe, now. Check the ’90s boy band’s New Jack jam “The Kissing Game (I Like The Way)” — particularly the intro. (Brilliant production by Teddy Riley, by the way!)

Thank you, Bieber — we’ll now be hitting repeat on the above video all day long because of you.
