Naturally, that upcoming MTV Unplugged album from Florence + The Machine has an episode of the stripped-down series to accompany it. MTV will air the special this coming Sunday, April 8, at 11 p.m. The album will be made available digitally the following night (April 9) at midnight. And, talk about added pressure: MTV News reports that Ms. Welch had a very special guest front and center during the taping in December — Kanye West! “He was dancing and really going for it in the front row — it was amazing,” she said. “At awards shows you can’t really see anyone, because there’s lights and they’re kind of far away, but for this, it was just like Kanye was just there.” One of the two covers Flo performed during the taping of Unplugged was Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness”, which Kanye and Jay-Z sampled for their 2011 hit “Otis”.

Florence told MTV News the following: “I covered ‘Try a Little Tenderness,’ and he’d just sampled that for the Watch the Throne album, so I was like, ‘Um, hi … you kind of got there before me, but I’m going to do this now, and it’s kind of for you.’ He was smiling the whole way through, and I think he’s a total genius, so to have him there was really incredible.”

Here’s a preview of Sunday’s episode to whet your appetite for the crimson-haired singer’s organic set:
