Recently, UK songstress Birdy jetted over to the US and hit up Los Angeles to perform at an intimate showcase, where, among other songs, the 15-year-old offered up her heartfelt ballad “Without A Word”. Clad in a black jacket — and clearly wearing her heart on her sleeve — Birdy sat at her piano and belted out the song, which appears on her just-released self-titled debut LP. Head below to watch an exclusive video of the live performance.
Though Birdy’s album contains covers of songs by bands ranging from The xx, Bon Iver, The Postal Service and Phoenix, “Without A Word” was penned by the singer (whose real name is Jasmine van den Bogaerde) herself.
Further proof that Birdy’s career is taking flight: she contributed the song “Just A Game” to the chart-topping soundtrack to The Hunger Games, which also features music from Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Miranda Lambert and Arcade Fire.

Adore Birdy. I ‘share’ her music with everyone at every opportunity I get. She sings to me while I drive back and forth, Birdy and Adele, not bad in my little car. Looking forward to any and all music/lyrics that she wishes to put ‘out there.’ Can’t get enough, quite stunning to listen to and a joy to have in my life.
