Adam Lambert‘s profile — and oversized circle frame glasses — make an appearance on the cover art for “Never Close Our Eyes”, the second single off his sophomore album Trespassing (May 15). Glambert tweeted out the single cover of his Bruno Mars-penned tune today. For those hoping for something a bit more upbeat than “Better Than I Know Myself”, don’t be dismayed by the low-key acoustic performance Adam delivered last month: the studio recording is absolutely bangin’. That’s because he’s been singing it LIVE when he promoted it. Do you know what live singing is honey? It’s where you actually just use your voice and maybe have someone playing a guitar. But you don’t SOUND LIKE THE STUDIO VERSION because you’re SINGING IT LIVE! I know. Most artists don’t do that anymore but Adam’s a bit old skool. The main thing for you to know about it is that proper old skool live songs (ie not using any techy voices or effects) don’t sound the same as studio tracks because they’re not miming to the tracks, they’re actually – you know – SINGING them.
“don’t be dismayed by the low key acoustic performance”? Dismayed? REALLY? The acoustic version is STUNNING! Adam is the master at changing a song up every time he sings it. Excited to hear both the plugged in, and phenomenal acoustic versions.

The snippet we have isn’t even the final mix, although I love love love what I hear so far, and I’m dyyying to hear the final full song! Hah after I listen to it the “NEVERRR!”part gets totally stuck in my head.
I think this will be a hit! I think it is cool that Bruno Mars gave Adam a song! Adam fans purchases will help support Bruno and Bruno fans purchases will help support Adam.
I, for one, hope the kick-ass acoustic is part of his repertoire on the next tour
