Apparently size does matter to , who we last heard on ‘s single “Is Anybody Out There”? The Canadian songstress is keeping the empowerment theme going on new single “Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)”, a noisy Rodney Jerkins-produced jam featuring hip hop beats, Nelly’s Auto-Tuned voice and lyrics about the singer finding strength in the size of her earrings. Heart it below!

“Tonight is the jam, I’ll be there till dawn / I’m goin’ down, I got got my big hoops on / pant legs so wide, I got my backpack on,” Furtado sings, taking on the sassy persona of a younger version of herself.

We’re more excited than anyone about Nelly’s return to pop music. Upcoming LP T.S.I. will be her first English language album since 2006’s Loose, after all. But if we have one criticism, it’s the singer’s unnecessary Rihanna-esque vocal delivery here. And, actually, if we have a second criticism, it’s that this isn’t the strongest lead single we’ve heard from an album. Let’s hope she’s keeping the big guns under wraps for the second offering from the new LP.
