Adam Lambert often writes his own material — he co-wrote eight out of twelve tracks on his upcoming sophomore album Trespassing —but he’s not opposed to releasing tunes originally written and recorded by other artists. We’ve previously pitted Adam’s versions of “Fever” and “Whataya Want From Me” against the recordings of the song’s writers — Lady Gaga and Pink, respectively. And since we found audio of Bruno Mars performing “Never Close Our Eyes”, Adam’s new single written by the Grammy-winning crooner, it’s time to let us know — who sang it better? Jump below to judge.

Adam tweeted that he wrote 12 of the 15 tracks on the deluxe edition, so he must have written 9 of the 12 tracks on the regular edition, fyi :)
I was going from the writing credits on Trespassing’s Wiki page, and I counted 8/12. But Wikipedia could always be wrong!
yes he wrote on 9 of the regular version and on all three bonus tracks on deluxe. These r the 3 he didn’t write on: NCOE, BTIKM and Naked Love. Btw wiki is not credible

Adam of course sings it better, although Brunos version is only a demo. The song doesn’t stretch Adams voice as much as the songs he wrote himself, although he adds some vocal runs towards the end.
Adam’s sounds more like something you would hear in Europe, it has an ethereal quality – I like it!
Adam sings this song beautifully .. I have a lot of respect for Bruno Mars though.. I love his song writing I think this is a great colab!! WTG Adam and Bruno :)
Let’s not pit the two against each other. It was a class act that Bruno gave Adam his song and it’s also classy that Adam sought out Bruno for a song when he beat him out of his grammy category. Love both of these guys.
ITA! I like them both. I’m a big Bruno fan as well as Adam’s. Don’t like to compare.
They actually sound pretty similar to me. I love Bruna and Adam and have longed for them to do a collab for ever. Adam can sing but Bruno is the significantly better song writer.
how can u say Bruno is a better songwriter? Adam’s new songs haven’t even come out yet?
Adam wrote on 6 of the songs on FYE but label wouldn’t make them singles therefore very few ppl but diehard fans even knew they existed.
awwww another hit getting poll……but I like both these guys, Ok Adam more but I really really like Bruno a lot too. I will say when I heard the demo I was a little disappointed Adam was going to do the song so when the final version came out I was quite happy that it was different and had more interesting production to it, so lets give Dr Luke some love to.
I dont want to do a who is better for these two but being a Glambert i am pathalogically unable to let Adam not be voted everything always so I did vote for him.

I will always be grateful that Bruno gave Adam this song….like Pink and Lady Gaga and all the great writers Adam works with. We Glamberts appreciate it. Bruno is a genius and Adam loves his music. Adam writes good songs, but radio just doesn’t get it, so we’re hoping Adam will get some respect. His album will be awesome I know it.
He didn’t give anything, they SELL the song. From a catalogue. Just like he bought Soaked from Bellamy. You can believe he paid Gaga , too, however in her case she thought of the song being good for Adam when they contacted her. Now HIS songs are catalogued and he’ll be selling them, just like he mentioned that boy band whatever their name is.
Adam Lambert sang this song better hands down. Enough said.
Bruno is a good singer, but Adam Lambert slayed this song. Best of both worlds. Amazing, out-of-this world vocal ability and mad song-writing skills. GO GET ‘EM ADAM!!!!!!!!!
I’m a HUGE Glambert and also a fan of Bruno Mars. Bruno wrote an awesome song and Adam definitely does it justice. Both guys are amazing vocalists and Bruno’s version doesn’t have the benefit of full production like Adam’s. No disrespect to Bruno, but I personally prefer Adam’s version.
I prefer bruno’s version his voice gives me more emotion and it’s only a demo but I also like adam as a singer and the only reason I didn’t vote for him is because of Dr.luke’s production he should have bruno produced the song for him too I know that he does that along with his production team
Bruno was involved in the making of this song in the studio and the production. He was in the studio with Dr. Luke and Adam.

I was surprised at how much I liked Bruno’s demo, but while it sounded good, you could tell that it was written for Adam. Not Bruno’s style, but cool to hear him with a different sort of track.

please kids….bruno is a much better singer-he has soul. adam did great and should thank his lucky stars he has friends who have enough talent to write songs and allow him to sing them. BRUNO is as really good friend ADAM> and a better singer
Talentless 30 year old Adam Lambert can’t survive without other song writers. That’s why always respect doesn’t follow him. He doesn’t know how to play any musical instruments, so how could he write? If he did, always money splits with other writers for cowriting. This song is so repetitive. Why is he called a rocker when his songs are always boring poppish?
