Beth Ditto has clearly been in the mood to dance. After pairing up with Simian Mobile Disco and releasing her stunning four-track Beth Ditto – EP last year, she and her band Gossip are back with full force this month with fifth studio album A Joyful Noise (out May 22 — pre-order here), which was produced by British pop production house Xenomania.
The LP’s first single “Perfect World” is full of pure Gossip edge — it’s a crafty blend of pop hooks, clever lyrics and rock ethos. And here, on the remix that international collective RAC whipped up for the tune, the instrumentation is stripped away and replaced with a bed of synths and beats, leaving Ditto to weave her haunting vocal magic over top.
