Things got awkward last night for Justin Bieber and David Letterman. During his late night appearance, Bieber showed off his brand new tattoo (he’s building quite the collection, no?) he got on his arm in honor of the release of his album Believe. Letterman wholly disapproved of all this ink on the 18-year-old, and grabbed his arm hard enough to make Bieber yap like a dog. Things didn’t get better when Letterman compared Bieber tattooing his body like defacing the Sistine Chapel, and Justin replied by calling it the “Sixteenth Chapel.” The TV host found this hilarious; meanwhile, the pop star didn’t appear to like being the butt of the joke.
Watch the second, less awkward half of the interview below (unless you consider Bieber attempting to sing opera as awkward), as well as Bieber performing his single “Boyfriend”.
Justin Bieber – “Boyfriend” (Late Night With David Letterman)

COME ON, GIVE THE BOY A LITTLE GRACE, HE MADE A MISTAKE, HE DID NOT WANT TO BE HASSLED OVER HIS TATTOO, AND WAS STILL WINCING FROM THE PAIN INFLICTED BY LETTERMAN. NOT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THE SISTINE CHAPEL WHEN YOU ARE 18. SIXTEEN WAS WHAT JUSTIN HEARD AND THATS WHAT HE REPEATED.

I thought Bieber handled the whole interview with grace and kept his dignaty. I wound the entire show very entertaining. Like the new boyfriend song. Yes.
