Britney Spears. Katy Perry. Kelly Clarkson. Usher. All of these are artists who’ve worked with producer Max Martin. Even California rockers Maroon 5 enlisted the Swedish hit-maker to executive produce their new LP Overexposed. So it makes sense that Adam Levine‘s fellow Voice coach Christina Aguilera would eventually get around to entering a studio with the Midas Touch knob twiddler.

Billboard reports today (via a source) that Xtina is “working hard” on her follow-up to 2010 LP Bionic, and that her new single — a “club banger” helmed by Martin — is expected to be out in early August. The insider also notes that the chorus contains the lyrics “all I want to do is what you wanted.”

Well, we know that the combo of Aguilera and Martin can’t miss. The jury’s still out, however, on those tracks the singer’s boyfriend Matthew Rutler is writing for her new album.

Are you excited about the prospect of new music from Christina before the summer ends?
