So which Hollywood maestro did they tap to score the new Selena Gomez movie — John Williams? Hans Zimmer? Trent Reznor, maybe? Nope! The honor will go to Grammy darling Skrillex, following the trend of major recording artists composing film scores. Now, if you assume that Spring Breakers is a tween-geared flick like Gomez’s Monte Carlo (since it does kind of sound like one), Skrillex may seem a curious choice. But when you realize Spring Breakers is brought to you by the writer of Kids, it all clicks into place.

“I think this film is going to turn a lot of heads in many ways. It was a lot of fun to work with Harmony because he gave me the freedom and trust to do whatever I wanted,” Skrillex said of the gig.
