No Doubt has been teasing the video for “Settle Down”, the lead single from their new album Push & Shove, for awhile now. Today we get an even closer look into what actually happens in the video with some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot. Best of all, you can actually hear the song’s chorus, which includes the lines, “You can read my lips, I’m trying to get a hold on this, and I really mean it this time.”

“The idea is, we’re all driving separate trucks, and we all arrive at this party. Then we start playing together, and people are like, ‘Yeeeah!’“, says drummer Adrian Young, punctuating his sentiment with a mighty thumbs up. Each bandmate has their own hot set of wheels, driving in from a different (greenscreened) location — Tom Dumont from suburbia, Tony Kanal from India, and Gwen Stefani comes all the way in from the Harajuku district of Tokyo — with her backup dancer “Baby” riding shotgun!

“Dreams do come true when you work with Sophie Muller,” says Gwen of the clip’s director (who also helmed the videos for “Don’t Speak” and “Simple Kind Of Life”). “Settle Down” will premiere on E! on Monday July 16 at 8 p.m.
