Kendrick Lamar kept things pretty light in his Dr. Dre collaboration “The Recipe”, which focused on the wonderful women, weed and weather available in Los Angeles. The Compton rapper switches things up and gets serious in his moody new track ”Swimming Pools (Drank)”, off his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city, due October 2. ”I’ve got a swimming pool full of liquor, I’m gonna dive in,” goes the chorus on this affecting number, detailing the misery and self-loathing that comes from alcoholism. Not exactly the best song to kick off your Friday night shenanigans, but worth a listen nonetheless. Check it out below.
