The Carnivale-like theme of Nicki Minaj‘s Trinidad-based music video for “Pound the Alarm”, her latest off Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, involves quite a few feathers, so of course Nicki rocked the fashion accessory during her Tonight Show performance on Friday (July 13). The late-night gig marked the first time Nicki did the song live (her US tour doesn’t kick off until later this month) so she pulled out all the stops: tons of cleave, super hot backup dancers, and a sparkly nude bodysuit that looked as if it could’ve been stolen straight out of former tour mate Britney Spears‘ closet.
Nicki was mainly there to promote her role as the wooly mammoth, Steffie, in the animated Ice Age: Continental Drift which just hit theaters yesterday, but might as well give yourself a little album promotion while you’re at it, right?

this was a pretty good performance, a lot more satisfying than the starships performances i think because she gets to rap in the intro and doesnt have to lip sync in the bridge. she is adorable
