Though Sparkle hits theaters August 17 (a week after what would have been Whitney Houston‘s 49th birthday on August 9), the film’s soundtrack will drop on July 31. But why wait til then to give it a listen? The entire soundtrack — including “I’m A Man” performed by Cee Lo Green, “Something He Can Feel” (popularized by En Vogue‘s 1992 cover) and a whole slew of Jordin Sparks solo numbers — is available for streaming online right now. Head to the film’s Soundcloud page to listen to the 11-song soundtrack, but first, hop below to hear Houston perform one of her last recordings, the gospel tune “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”.

Uplifting and glorious, “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” showcases Whitney’s gorgeous vocals in this passionate performance. Though she’s not exactly at the level she was during The Bodyguard era, we think the pop star sounds lovely in this soulful number, and much stronger than she had sounded in quite some time. It’s a shame we won’t get to hear more from Houston as she was trying so hard to reclaim her incredible voice.
