With a top-earning world tour, a signature fragrance and her own social media platform, it wasn’t going to be long until Lady Gaga set out to conquer Hollywood. And for her big-screen acting debut, Gaga has teamed with bizarro grindhouse director Robert Rodriguez for a cameo in his next project, Machete Kills. How do we know this? Rodriguez announced on Twitter Thursday (July 26): “I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!” The director then attached the star’s character poster as proof. Billed as “Lady Gaga” — instead of her real name, Stephanie Germonatta — the pop star will take on the role of La Chameleón, a sultry, smoking gun-toting assassin (we think). Machete Kills is the sequel to Rodriguez’s 2010 Mexploitation flick Machete, starring Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba and *cough* Lindsay Lohan. The follow-up, also starring Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and Sofia Vergara, is slated to hit theaters in 2013. [via The Playlist]
