Music You Never Asked For: Aubrey O’Day’s Cover Of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”
There have been plenty of parodies, covers and remixes of Gotye‘s chart-topping smash “Somebody That I Used To Know”, more than we’ll ever really need. And yet here comes the most unnecessary one, compliments of former Danity Kane dame and Celebrity Apprentice alum Aubrey O’Day.
Besides turning the plinky tune into a chilly electronic number, O’Day changes the lyrics to the Aussie’s breakup tune, offering the woman’s perspective originally reserved for just Kimbra‘s part, and most notably adding some NSFW words, including the updated refrain, “Now you’re just some asshole that I used to know.” Subtle!
