Kendrick Lamar Gets Soaked In His “Swimming Pools (Drank)” Video
While most hip-hop videos are more than willing to show the benefits of alcohol consumption in a sexy party atmosphere, Kendrick Lamar goes the other way, showcasing the depths of despair linked with imbibing in his video for “Swimming Pools (Drank)”. In the beautifully shot, introspective clip, Lamar contemplates the risks of drinking as we see him fall through the blackness of space as bottles smash into pieces. The MC’s free-falling eventually ends as he splashes into a seemingly endless pool of liquid — thankfully, the conclusion of the video has him finding a hand to help pull him out.
“Swimming Pools (Drank)” is off Lamar’s upcoming album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, out October 2.
