Green Day Perform New Trilogy Songs Live At The Echoplex

Green Day stormed The Echoplex in Los Angeles last night with a not-so-secret show, and we were thrilled to be one of the many moshing fans crammed into the 700-capacity club. The Bay Area band opened up with “Welcome To Paradise” and “American Idiot”, but used at least half of their two-hour (plus) set to debut new material from their upcoming album trilogy. One such song was ¡Uno! track “Kill The DJ”, a song that sounds like Franz Ferdinand‘s “Take Me Out” mixed with The White Stripes‘ “The Hardest Button To Button”, with Billie Joe Armstrong exclaiming, “Shoot the fucking DJ!” No dubstep here, folks.

Head below for live recordings of other new songs “Nuclear Family” and “Wild One”.

We think we see our heads and hands rocking back in forth in the crowd in this fan-shot footage. We also noted that fans weren’t the only ones with their camera posed on the trio, as there were several pros shooting the show as well. Looks like performances from their Echoplex gig just might end up in the band’s forthcoming documentary.
