Cheryl Cole‘s recording of “Ghetto Baby”, a cut penned by Lana Del Rey for her upcoming LP A Million Lights, surfaced back in June, and in between the knowingly dated references and sexy, detached delivery, there was no mistaking it for a Del Rey original.
Finally, today we finally get to hear the “Summertime Sadness” songbird herself on the tune as her demo popped up online. Head below to hear both versions, then let us know which artist was a more convincing ghetto baby.

Now that we’ve heard both pop stars on the track, we can safely say that Lana Del Rey is the only one who should be singing Lana Del Rey songs. Cheryl isn’t necessarily bad on her version — it just sounds like she’s doing a shameless impression of Del Rey the whole time. If she couldn’t manage to infect it with her own personality, it may as well have just stayed a Lana song.

I cant understand what any of them are saying, they are both very very similar, Cheryl hasn’t tried to make it her own she has just copied lana, so if I had to listen again I would pick Lana

Lana’s! You can really tell she wrote the song. There’s more variety on her voice, whereas Cheryl’s voice is quite similar throughout the whole song. Although the music was slightly more pop than I’m used to hearing from Lana. Both versions were good though xx
Lana’s Is better. Lana makes references to things that only Lana fans understand and expect from her. With Cheryl singing it…It just sounded weird. Like if she was singing karaoke. Lana’s version is bright and upbeat, perfect to just act crazy and fun, while Cheryl’s is slowed down and the beat is just drowning her out. Both versions are great. But Lana’s is superior! :)
Lana Del Rey of course her voice better than Cheryl Lana’s Songs are only for Lana none else ..Lana Del Rey is Best and should be in her new album no in Cheryl…
