Whitney Houston‘s 2000 collection Whitney — The Greatest Hits may be the fourth-best-selling album of the year after fans flocked to it in the wake of the singer’s death, but many who’ve purchased the compilation over the past 12 years have held the complaint that the upbeat tracks appear in remix form, rather than their familiar radio versions. But today, on what would have been Houston’s 49th birthday, RCA Records announced that a career-spanning Whitney hits collection (yes, including the original versions you know and love) is due out this fall.

Billboard reports that a release date, tracklist and title for the set has yet to be announced, but this would be the first Whitney hits collection since the release of her LPs Just Whitney… (2002) and I Look To You (2009). Might we suggest the label take a close look at our own 10 Best Whitney Houston Songs That Radio Forgot list for an idea of which tracks to include?
