With Rita Ora‘s debut LP ORA out soon, the British songstress is naturally hard at work on the promo trail. And while she’s certainly no stranger to performing covers, we were surprised to hear her pull out such a piece of bubblegum pop as One Direction‘s “What Makes You Beautiful” for her BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance.

That said, the 21-year-old Londoner and her band strip away the song’s glossy production and flip it into a jazzy acoustic number — with a Caribbean-tinged breakdown in the middle, to boot! See if you think Rita makes 1D’s smash hit more beautiful below.
