Kanye West Wrote A Song With Skrillex

As if there wasn’t a more cement indication that dubstep is having its moment, Kanye West has reportedly collaborated with Skrillex on a new song.

“I did some music with Kanye,” the 24-year-old DJ/producer told The Daily Beast. “And from what I know, it’s actually going to be the first song on his new album.”

Which album of Kanye’s is unclear — the tune could appear on his G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Cruel Summer, or Yeezy’s sixth solo studio album, which he’s already started working on. All we know is that the chances of Kanye getting a Skrillex haircut has now doubled.

This wouldn’t be the first time West dipped his toe into electronica — his 2007 hit single, “Stronger”, sampled Daft Punk‘s “Harder Better Faster Stronger”, leading the two acts to perform the track together at the 2008 Grammy Awards. And for those who doubt that West’s tunes could be successfully merged with EDM, we implore you to give this excellent Watch The Throne remix album a listen.
