This summer we’re partnering with Australian-born rapper Iggy Azalea to showcase Levi’s Fall Collection.
Iggy has only been on the US hip-hop radar for a little more than a year, but she has already made a name for herself as an MC and as a model (thanks in no small part to that booty). The blond speed-rhymer has collaborated with B.o.B while rocking a neo-street style reminiscent of the best of the ’80s urban trend.
Click the image to shop Levi’s Fall Collection with Iggy now, and enter the promo code IGGY2012 at checkout to receive a special 30% off discount for Idolator readers! But hurry — this special offer is only good through Sep. 15 at us.levi.com.
Where’d the name Iggy Azalea come from?
Iggy is the name of my old dog. I had a name plate necklace that I used to wear which read “Iggy.” People I’d meet assumed it was my name and started calling me that. Azalea is the street I grew up on – I’m from Azalea Street. My family still lives there to this day.
You’ve had so many collaborators, who’s been your favorite so far?
My favorite collaboration is a tie between T.I. on “Murda Bizness” and Mike Posner on “Flash.” They are both very different sounding records and I love both.
Who will you be working with next?
My next project I’ll be staying away from cameos and just focusing on working with D.R.U.G.S getting back to what we make best.
What album are you listening to most right now?
None really, I don’t listen to much music in my own free time. I think I get overloaded from being in the studio making my own.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I guess what’s considered surprising all depends on how you perceive me in the first place.
You signed with Wilhelmina Models International. What’s going on with your modeling career?
My modeling career is going great, I’ll shoot my third cover as a model next month!
Describe your personal style.
The Nanny named Fran and Grace Kelly’s love child.
Have you ever DIY-ed a piece of clothing or an accessory?
Of course, plenty of times. I used to embroider swimsuits and sell them to friends.
What item of clothing or makeup do you put on to feel sexy?
Lipstick. Nothing’s sexier than a classic red lip.
Favorite way you like to see a man dressed?
I’m going to have to be like all women here and say a suit. There’s something about it, it’s an instant makeover.
What was your favorite era for fashion? Why?
I loved the ’50s, I think the cuts of clothing were so beautiful.
What’s your preference: heels, sneakers or barefoot?
Heels, I wish I could glue them to my feet.
