Lady Gaga feels emotionally close with all of her Little Monsters — but if you attempt to get physically close to the pop star, think twice. While departing her hotel in Bucharest, Romania, Gaga — wearing an adorable black-and-white cocktail dress paired with hat and gloves — walked out to passersby applauding her existence, and one overeager fan approaching her for an autograph perhaps a little too quickly. As you’d expect, the singer’s bodyguards do what they’re paid to do, and slams the fan to the ground as Gaga briefly reacts, then continues her way out the door.
To her roughed-up Romanian fan — fret not. There’s always eBay if you’re really interested in getting Gaga’s autograph.
So if this was in the United States she and her bodyguards would be facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit for brutalizing this guy. The bodyguards clearly over-reacted and roughed this guy up for the pleasure of bullying a “nerd”. The standard for “self defense” is “reasonable” force — clearly these guys could have simply stood between GAGA and the so-called “attacker” and blocked him out. They didn’t need to slam him to the ground and humiliate him (and maybe injure him badly) for adoring the person they they were “in” with. If I was on the jury I would give him $500 million in punitive damages against both GAGA and her henchmen.
If you run up to a celebrity like that you should expect that to happen.
