Demi Lovato Tears Up In New ‘X Factor’ Promo

Britney Spears recently sang the praises of her fellow judge on The X Factor, Demi Lovato, by mentioning to TV Guide how strong the 20-year-old is. Of course, we already knew the recent birthday girl was one tough cookie after tuning in to her Stay Strong documentary earlier this year. In a brand new promo clip for The X Factor, however, we get to see Lovato’s soft side on display, as she tears up while watching an audition. Watch above.

The appropriately triumphant “Don’t Fail Me Now” by last year’s winner Melanie Amaro plays in the background as we glimpse a montage that focuses on several of those who have auditioned for the upcoming season. We then see Demi raise her hands to her face and turn away while watching one hopeful belt out a song. (At least we hope she’s crying from joy, and not stifling laughter!)

We also catch Britney thrilling one lucky crooner by telling them, “You’re so passionate and fun to watch.” This is clearly the “uplifting” promo, though, as we’re all aware, there will surely be some trademark, soul-crushing barbs doled out by Simon Cowell (and Britney) to be seen during the audition process.
