Demi Lovato is slated to perform her big hit “Give Your Heart A Break” during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on September 6. It’s an emotional song, no doubt, but she’ll likely be turning off the X Factor waterworks for this performance. Earlier Tuesday (Aug. 28) the network announced that along with dance-pop maestro Calvin Harris (who is nominated for Best Electronic Dance Music Video), Lovato will be working the crowd into a frenzy during the hour-long lead-up to the main event.
Not that the crowd will need any coaxing for the stacked VMA bill: Frank Ocean and Rihanna were recently added to the list of performers that already included One Direction, Taylor Swift, Pink and Green Day. The VMAs air live at 8 p.m. ET on September 6, with the pre-show beginning at 7 p.m.
