Mercurial MC Lupe Fiasco has premiered the video for “Battle Scars” from his upcoming album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 (Sept. 25). The inspiring song — which features Australian singer Guy Sebastian on the chorus — is much less ridiculous than that album title suggests. It’s about facing your problems so that you aren’t defined by your “battle scars,” so the bleak video takes place in seemingly war-ravaged buildings and streets. Once the song fades out, text commands the viewer to ”Turn off your computer right now…and go outside and do something to change the world.” Change the world. But first watch the video up top.
