Robbie Williams Goes “Candy”-Colored In New Video

Robbie Williams may be best known for loving angels instead, but in his new video, he’s transformed himself into one. The British singer-songwriter has just released the clip for his new single, “Candy,” which was co-written by his Take That bandmate Gary Barlow (who himself is a judge on the UK version of The X Factor), and the video is pretty, um, sweet.

Donning a pastel pink blazer and trousers, Williams assumes the role of a guardian angel for a girl (played by Skins starlet Kaya Scodelario) who won’t acknowledge him — even as he risks bodily harm to clear her path. The song, which samples Norwegian producer Todd Terje‘s single “Eurodans” (as detailed by SPIN), is sprightly and spunky with a clever hook — arguably the best sweets-related diss since Annie‘s “Chewing Gum.”

“Candy” is a good look for the Take That heartthrob, who just seems to be getting more heavenly (!) with age.
