Rumor has it that Adele has recorded the theme song for the upcoming James Bond installment Skyfall — and she may even have teamed up with her “Rolling In the Deep” producer Paul Epworth for the track. According to Contactmusic, Adele’s involvement is officially confirmed after months of rumors. The “Someone Like You” chanteuse told UK talk show host Jonathan Ross last year that she was headed back into the studio to perform “a theme that I’ve got to do,” adding, “Wow, that’s really giving something away.”

Later, she was spotted with Epworth at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios around the time that the soundtrack was being produced. Coincidence? Hopefully not, since Epworth’s stamp all but guarantees that the song will be as mighty as anything on 21.

On the subject of rumors, an “insider” claimed to Us Magazine (via NME) that the era of big, blustery Adele break-up anthems may be coming to a close. “[Her new record] will be lighter than her last ode to break-up,” the source said. “The pregnancy has had a big impact on her songwriting.”

We’ll be impressed if she can find a way to make a James Bond theme song about the quiet pleasures of domestic bliss and motherhood, but hey — if anyone can pull off that songwriting feat, it’s Adele.
