While Cher Lloyd prepares for the US release of her debut album Sticks + Stones tomorrow, October 2, she hasn’t stopped getting serious mileage out of her breakout hit “Want U Back” — as she demonstrated when she performed the track on The Ellen Degeneres Show today. Making her stateside talk show debut, Lloyd’s voice sounded a little shaky, but she compensated for what she lacked in vocal power with major attitude ( i.e. “swagger,” as the kids are saying these days).
The song has peaked at #12 on the Hot 100, although it’s still getting major radio play. But personally, we’d be more excited to see her perform her new single “Oath,” which will probably be as ubiquitous as “Want U Back” a month or two from now.
