Kate Nash’s “Fri-end?” Music Video Gives Fans The Gift Of ‘Buffy’

We were lucky enough to get treated instead of tricked by Kate Nash this October 31, with a Halloween-themed music video — and new track. Though things have been pretty quiet from the “Do Wah Doo” singer following the release of her 2010 album My Best Friend Is You (one of our favorite albums of the year), the 25-year-old has returned with news of an EP and the perfect addition to her angry-nice-girl musical genre: “Fri-end?” (Yes, we spelled that right.) In fact, Kate wanted to make sure everyone was clear on the theme of the tune, tweeting, “new song title is actually Fri-end? with a question mark at the end & said slow cause like you know they are totally not your friend.” Yikes! Wonder who stabbed this vamp in the back. Fans of the TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer will also notice that the new vid pays tribute to the famous musical episode “Once More With Feeling”. Kate, clearly a fan, tweeted out in the famous quote “Into every generation, there is a chosen one. One girl in all the world.”

More details about Kate’s upcoming EP are reported to surface in the coming weeks.

Did this video get you into the Halloween spirit? Are you excited to hear more from the pop star?
