Whitney Houston’s “Never Give Up”: Hear The Previously Unreleased Track

Whitney Houston‘s posthumous greatest hits collection I Will Always Love You: The Best Of Whitney Houston is due out on November 19, featuring a mix of her biggest singles and previously unheard tracks. The latest to surface is the Jermaine Dupriproduced “Never Give Up,” which premiered via a lyric video earlier today.

The track features raspy but still impressive vocals from Houston, who allegedly recorded the song during the sessions for her final studio album, 2009’s I Look To You; the fact that her once-immaculate voice sounds more wearied than in her earlier hits makes the inspirational message of “Never Give Up” all the more affecting. While the production doesn’t feel particularly fresh, it’s still a fine entry in Houston’s catalogue and a worthy testimony to her legacy. Listen to the track above.
